If you haven’t really had to deal with homework before, it can be a big deal, sometimes even daunting. There are, however, ways and means to make math homework in the 6th grade easier and less stressful. Below is some vital advice to make things a lot better when you’re tackling your various exercises, questions, and problems.
It can be easy to get worked up over your homework even before you attempt to start even it. That can make things seem even more daunting and stressful because you build it up in your mind as something scarier and harder than it actually is. This is your first mistake! There is nothing scary about having to do work at home by yourself. It actually just means you can do it at your own speed, in your own way. You actually have more power over the work you do at home than the work you do at school. You can take breaks when you want to and if you need to and you can complete the exercises in the way that you want. So don’t over think it: it’s not that bad!
If you are worried about how you’re going to go about your homework, then just remember to approach things slowly and logically. Don’t just rush into it headlong without thinking: that’s how you get stuck, get stressed and end up hating all sorts of homework for the rest of your life. And that’s simply not worth it! Just start by reading your notes from class to remind yourself of what is expected of you and then take the questions one at a time. Even if there are 50 of them, they will all get done. Just take your time.
If you are enjoying yourself doing your math homework, it’ll seem much easier and go by much quicker. You can ensure that you enjoy your work by doing several things: throwing yourself on the subject and by rewarding yourself for the work you do. If there are questions, for example, that takes a few minutes each to complete, reward yourself with a sweet or something similar after every 3 or 5. If there are particularly difficult questions, reward yourself after everyone. That way you have something to look forward to and can get through the exercises quickly and have fun at the same time.
